Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a 21st century teacher educating 21st century learners. The field of STEAM is vastly underrepresented in BIPOC and especially BIPOC WOMEN.

In my classroom I want to level the playing field for the future STEAMists, future scientists, and future LEADERS that I am lucky enough to teach!

These headsets will be utilized in many different ways in my classroom. We watch many learning videos, listen to podcasts, explore learning apps, and listen to books each and everyday. Many students do not come to school with earbuds or headphones. These headsets will transform their learning experience by providing them with a valuable resource. With the microphones, students will be able to record videos, produce voice overs for their videos on Seesaw, record Flipgrid videos and maybe even someday record their OWN podcasts! I want to amplify my student voices and instill in them that STEAM is for everyone. The batteries will power up our various STEAM tools and the wireless keyboard will allow my teaching to be mobile! I will no longer be tethered to my desktop.
