My students need Califone noise cancelling headsets to optimize listening and speaking when using the English language program in our classroom.

I teach an amazing group of English Language Learners from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. My class is a mini United Nations covering North, Central, and South America, the Caribbean, Africa, and the Middle East. Students teach each other catch phrases in Arabic, Spanish, French, Haitian Creole, Swahili, and Portuguese while learning English. Each one is unique -displaying creative, intellectual, and athletic skills. All care about their education and about each other.
Every day my students come to class prepared for the challenge of navigating the ins and outs of high school in the US.
Many come from difficult situations, but all want to succeed, to graduate and to contribute to their families and communities. They have taught me a lot about resilience, persistence, and diligence.
A vital part of language learning is being able to hear clear models of the target language and to practice oral language with feedback. The dedicated listening center in our classroom often competes with other group activities. My students have difficulty listening and speaking while using the online English language program because our current headsets do not have noise-cancelling abilities. Students get frustrated and distracted.
The Califone noise-cancelling headsets will allow my students to hear the target language and practice their oral skills without being distracted by our busy, interactive ESOL classroom.
This will increase student focus and motivation, and increase learning.
