Headphones with Microphones and Web Camera

Help me give my students an opportunity to work on the computer and use headphones that have a microphone. This will enhance their blended learning activities because they can listen to themselves read and perform phonics activities online.

My Students

I teach in a Spanish Dual Language Program, students ages 7 and 8. I teach two different classes of 25 students each. We have a mix of low and high-income families. Many rent their home or apartment. More than half of my students qualify for free or reduced lunch. This is a very large school with five second-grade classes, and our resources are stretched very thin. Our school is a Title I school.

I believe that the more positive exposure students have to various electronic resources and blended learning materials, the more they are able to progress in the love of learning.

Especially blended learning activities during the impact of the pandemic.

My class loves to work collaboratively on projects and ask questions about how things work. They would greatly benefit from being able to explore and learn through these engaging materials. We currently have limited Electronics and especially headphones with a microphone that students can use in our classroom, but what we do have, the kids truly love.

My Project

These resources will help our students be able to use microphones with headphones to enhance their blended learning experience. They will be able to hear themselves read and do phonemic awareness activities on their Chromebooks. It will help personalize my instruction so that students can read and learn at a level that is valuable for each student.

Using headphones with a microphone enhances the Blended learning activities during the impact of the pandemic.

I am excited for them to be able to listen to themselves read and progress where they need support. I have also added a web camera that will be helpful should we go to remote learning. I can use it to make videos and use zoom to reach my classes.
