My students are a bright and brilliant group of young people who are in the process of learning to truly grow through their education and community. My students this year are such a unique group of individuals, and they have been celebrating each other's differences. I am extremely proud of the community that they are building and have seen them grow tremendously.
The school is located in a lower income area in the Silicon Valley.
Most of the students at the school receive free or reduced-price lunch. It is a Title I school in East San Jose, California with a high population of English Learners. Although we are lacking many resources, the fighting spirit found within the teachers and students push us further towards our goals.
HELP! We are in dire need of headphones. State testing is fast approaching, and we are lacking the headphone technology to help students be successful.
In a previous project, my students were graciously donated headphones.
I thought that buying in bulk would stretch the project out over a few years, but it turns out that the bulk headphones weren't of very good quality.
At our Title I school, we are not allowed to require students to bring any materials. The district hasn't provided the headphones to go along with the added technology this year. The headphones we currently have are poor quality, and we really need kids’ headphones that fit their heads properly.
These headphones will help students hear better when they are using the apps on the iPad and will especially help during state testing. The headphones we have are already falling apart, and I would like a high quality set of headphones so that they will last through the school year and beyond. Thank you so much for considering this project.
