This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students attend a metropolitan school in Georgia and are really motivated to learn. They are energetic, inquisitive, and have so much potential. This is a school that recently opened to catch up with the growing population in the area. So many families have been drawn to this awesome school. Since it's a brand new school, we are working on building our resources. According to my superintendent, the diversity of my school district right now reflects the projected diversity of our country in 2040. My students are the future.

My Project

I am requesting headphones so that my students can use the technology in our classroom independently. We have computers and iPads and they can make a lot of noise, which distracts from "teacher time" when I work with a small group. If we have headphones, the students can work with technology while I push a small group of kids simultaneously. These headphones will be used during our center times. It may seem like a small request but your donation will transform our learning environment. My students will be able to use all of our technology without disrupting the flow of instruction or distracting their peers
