Headphones Needed for Hearing Us Read

My students need headphones for each of the computers in the computer lab.

My Students

My students are amazing learners. They love coming into the computer lab each week and trying out new things. These students come from all over the world, with at least 10 different languages spoken at home. They love playing reading games, that include sound. They are a great group of students.

Our school has a high ELD population, with at least half of the Kindergarten students being non native English speakers.

The students come to school everyday ready to learn, but are in need of your help and support.

My Project

Getting these headphones will mean that when the students are reading a book in various programs we use, they will be able to hear themselves reading the words. This will allow the students to get a better understanding of their fluency in reading. RIght now, the students are unable to isolate their computers from their neighbors and cannot hear themselves. To fix this, the students would really be able to grow as readers with these headphones.

These headphones will also assist our Non Native English speakers and newcomers will be able to hear and more quickly acquire the sounds that different letters make.

This is enable them to pick up English as a second language quickly and allow them to be more successful in class.
