Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are in second grade at a bilingual school. For half of them, this is their first time learning in Spanish...and they are fully immersed starting in September. Some students are native English speakers, and some are native Spanish speakers. Every other week they have class in either English or Spanish. They are eager to learn and excited to be in school!
My students deserve the best materials so that they can achieve their potential in school.

My Project
At my school we are fortunate enough to have access to an online reading program called Raz-Kids. This program allows students to listen to, record, and assess their understanding of books at exactly their level.
My students need headphones with microphones in order to take advantage of this amazing reading program.
My class is taught entirely in Spanish and therefore my students need to have additional access to material in that language. With these headphones, they will be able to listen to someone read them a story in Spanish, and then can then record themselves reading the story as well. They love listening to their own recordings!
