My Students

In our amazing town, you'll find many different families. Some students were born here, while many others came from different countries speaking no English at all. This diversity is what makes our students special, and what motivates our teachers to go above and beyond in their practice.

I teach first grade at a Title 1 school in Pennsylvania that services students who are learning English as a second language.

At our school we pride ourselves in providing excellence in education. In my classroom, students know diversity is something to embrace. We learn from each other everyday. Our diverse students strive for success in learning the English language and want nothing more than to succeed in school. Their motivation to learn English as a second language while perfecting their first language inspires me everyday. These students are truly special and I want nothing more than to provide them with the best tools to help them reach their goals.

My Project

Recently we received some fantastic tablets from Donors Choose to use in the classroom. My class was so excited to use them and are incredibly eager to get on them any chance we get. We've been using them for center time, interactive assignments, and test taking. However, we've run into a problem with the headphones we have not working well.

To use our new tablets during center time, we need headphones to keep our stations quiet!

Headphones not only help keep our stations quiet, but help to keep students focused on the task in front of them.

We are also looking to get some headphone jack adaptors to ensure these headphones fit into the jack with the cases we have on the tablets. All of these things will really help us get the most out of our new tablets that were given to us by the donors here at Donors Choose! Will you help us with our goal?
