Technology is such a great resource in the classroom, and this year we have less of it. These tablets will be useful in helping students become independent in their learning centers, while I, the teacher, pull small groups of students to meet specific needs. With our diverse classroom, many students struggle to read and comprehend written instructions. My goal is to use these tablets as a way to give oral instructions and model various activities or projects for my students. In achieving this goal, my students will become independent learners, which will result in more time spent participating in educational activities. I plan to make instructional videos that students can watch to hear instructions for things like independent math work, math and reading games, oral speaking projects, and more! Also, our district just purchased a new reading curriculum which has a wonderful online component where students can get assignments, take tests, and play games! However, I can't utilize this online resource without more tablets. With technology, the possibilities are endless which is why this project is so beneficial in so many ways. I'm hoping, with more technology, students will be able to participate in more meaningful and creative learning centers, rather than just the typical worksheets. Will you help make a difference in our education?
