Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach an amazing group of first graders at a Title I school where all students receive free breakfast and lunch. My class is made up of 26 diverse learners and many of them are English Language Learners. Despite the many challenges my students face, they are very eager to come to school and learn something new. My students use iPads during the school day, but they do not have the tools they need in order to be successful while using the iPads.
My Project
Although we may speak different languages, technology is a universal language we all speak. During math, literacy, science, and social studies my students use iPads to connect to the world around them and increase their knowledge. I want to be able to provide my students with quality headphones that are comfortable for when they are working on the iPads so that they can hear. I also want to be able to provide an iPad charging unit to ensure that the technology is always charged whenever they may need it. By providing quality headphones and an iPad charging unit, my students will have a classroom environment that is quieter, calmer, and better suited for student learning. This will allow my students the opportunity to focus on what they are working on.
