My students need a class set of headphones to use with the computers.
This project expired on May 14, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students experience difficulties both academically and socially. Their problems relate to their home situations, financial stability, poor parental involvement and lack of motivation. This transfers negatively into their learning. As a teacher in a low-income/high-poverty school district, I would like my students to experience learning in an enjoyable environment. I want to provide activities where they would be engaged and thrilled and get the chance to change their negative feelings of learning into positive ones.
My students need to believe in themselves, that they can be creative thinkers and assets to the community.
Therefore, these activities/projects will give them the chance to do so.
Hurricane Maria forced the residents from Puerto Rico to seek an alternative place to live and continue with their lifestyles. Students came to Florida into our school and into my classroom seeking a stable education. Unfortunately, the resources in my classroom did not cater for the increase in enrollment. Hence, I have to reach out for extra help. I am thankful for the extra laptops I have received, but I would like to obtain the headphones to go with them.
These headphones will allow my new displaced students from Puerto Rico affected by Hurricane Maria to sit and work independently on the computer with privacy.
All my students would be able to concentrate better on their computer assignments. I want the students from Puerto Rico to be comfortable and not let the unfortunate past of the hurricane to steal their joy of learning.
