This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember first grade? I remember buying a new Cabbage Patch kids lunchbox, new shoes and the perfect backpack that was too big for me. I was so excited to meet my teacher and make new friends. My students experience the same feelings, but sadly they do not always have the supplies they need.

My passion for teaching grows everyday as I met each challenge that I am faced with.

My students have challenges too and one of my goals is to teach them to handle challenges and to strive to be a productive individual. My classroom is one of their early experiences with learning and providing a safe, stimulating learning environment is key! We work each day to grow and we strive for growth not perfection.

My Project

Our class loves to use technology for reading and math and we are fortunate to have access to iPads and many engaging learning programs/applications. However, when we use our iPads the class gets noisy because we do not have headphones and it can be hard to benefit from all the exciting programs we have at our school. I am requesting a set of headphones with volume controls.

If we are lucky enough to get these much needed headphones, then our fabulous class will be able to use the iPads and not distract others in our room.

We will also be able to improve our reading, writing and problem solving skills.
