Help me give my students their own personal headphones to use in the classroom so they don't need to share or bring theirs from home. This will help prevent the spread of any virus in the fall.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from low income families located in the heart of the city. Despite all the odds that may come against them both my students and their parents remain connected to their educational responsibilities.
Last spring we were forced out of our classrooms due to the pandemic.
As much as we would love to be back full time in our classroom this fall there will be some changes in order to ensure the safety of both staff and students. That means that we will rely on online resources to continue learning from home. Some of these resources will require headphones.
My Project
Having to not fret about forgetting to bring their headphones from home will be very helpful for my second graders. This shouldn't be another of their worries.
On a regular school year they used to just keep them in the class, but since we will be doing a combination of remote learning and in class meetings this is the best plan for now.
Our headphones are very helpful during reading centers, science, social studies, math, and world language. We use them with apps such as epic books, seesaw, and happy numbers.
