Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My school has been closed since Friday, March 13th. Since then, our distance learning started. My school passed out laptops to all students who requested and Comcast is providing hotspot through the county. My students log into the student portal to do their assignments daily. However, not many students have their own room to study and while we are doing face to face lessons using Zoom, they don't have a quiet room. Also, many of their students' parents are not familiar with the technology. Many parents lost jobs and they are home trying to carry their lives.

My Project

My students started distance learning at home. However, not many students have their own room to focus on their learning. Many older siblings and parents are not working and constantly, my students are surrounded by noises and commotions. My students come from a modest family and money is spent to buy food for them and they don't have money to buy a headphone for their child. At least, having their own headphones could help them reduce these noises and focus on their learnings. When we have a zoom meeting, they can hear my lessons better too.
