My Students

I teach in an elementary school in Montgomery County MD. I am a media specialist who uses technology daily. My students come from a very diverse community with a variety of Language and Special education needs. Many students at this school come from single, working parent homes and receive free and reduced meals for lunch. I teach all grades from Kindergarten all the way to fifth grade. I see every class every week and teach kids of all abilities.

My Project

I teach in a media center where 530 students come to see me every week. We have devices for students to use, but many students do not have headphones.

Headphones can allow students to just focus on their own screens and not their neighbors when the entire class is on a device.

During our online research, often times, students have the option of text and information being read to them.

These headphones would allow an entire class to conduct online research, read online books and do audio based projects without disrupting their classmates.

They are essential to our school in maximizing media time each week.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
