This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach at a school that has a very diverse community. I have students that have gone to many different schools through boundary changes, as well as many English Language Learners that have come from Spanish speaking countries such as Venezuela and Mexico. My students from day one know that they were put into my classroom to be incredible, not just average.
Getting a class set of headphones will help my students complete their reading program and other projects, as well as help my Spanish speakers learn English.
My students need headphones to be able to hear podcasts, audio books, and various audio clips which helps them with the speaking and listening standards. We will also use the microphone on the headphones to make videos and respond to each other's audio clips, which will be extremely beneficial for my students, especially my English Language Learners. These headphones will be used for years to come and allow all my future students the opportunity to show their learning and understanding by listening and recording audio.
My students will also benefit from privacy folders to be used for testing so I can ensure student answers accurately reflect their level of understanding.
