Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from mostly low-income households. Many of my students are bilingual, speaking mostly Spanish and English. We are a diverse school located on the Southside of Chicago.

My students are diverse learners and strive to do their best when reading, even if it can be a struggle.

They are excited to learn new skills and enjoy working in groups. They participate in class and do well working on projects. They amaze me everyday!

My Project

The materials I am requesting for my students will allow them to each have their own set of headphones. As of now, I do not have enough headphones for my class and this limits some of the individual activities we are able to do in class.

My students would be able to have access to so many reading applications and activities that would enable them to build their fluency and reading comprehension skills.

It would also allow them to store and not have to share materials that could spread unwanted germs. The possibilities are endless and would give my students an opportunity to work more independently.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
