My Students

My classroom is made up of 12 precious students with developmental delays, autism, and behavior disorders. Our classroom teaches children who are 5-8 years old in a self-contained classroom setting. My classroom students are so important to me and there is nothing that I would not do for them to become the best that they can be! They are full of life and have amazing spirits. Many of my students struggle on a daily basis with cognition, focusing, concentration, anxiety, and managing their emotions appropriately. It is my job to create a classroom environment that promotes a safe place to learn and grow through the school year.

My Project

Technology within the classroom is an amazing opportunity for my students. We use the computers and the iPads in our classroom on a daily basis, however with 12 students using the same headphones there is a good bit of wear and tear on the headphones. It takes working headphones for the kiddos to be able to take advantage of all of the amazing technology such as Reading Horizons, ABC Mouse, DreamBox, OSMO, Reading Counts, and several other creation apps that the kids enjoy using. With these new headphones, I will be able to keep technology in our daily rotations for centers and use the iPads along with my daily lessons.
