Help me give my students some new supplies for when we return from winter break. My students have been virtual all year so far, when we return after winter break they will need new supplies to be successful
My students work so hard every day, despite an amazing amount of odds stacked against them. They are creative innovative, and love to share their voices through writing and technology. Our current struggle is staying current with our students' technology needs. We are at the mercy of our school budget and cannot always afford what we need for students to be successful.
We are located in an inner-city neighborhood where students could be exposed to drug activity, shootings, and countless other crimes.
Despite these odds, our students come in ready to learn every day. We work hard to provide them with everything they need to be successful and our classroom budgets do not always allow for expenses like more current technology.
My Project
The supplies that I have requested are the everyday supplies that my first graders use on a daily basis. By getting them the supplies of dry erase markers and card stock to make new boards for them to write on they will have the necessary supplies at home or back in the classroom without having to share supplies. Or by having these supplies on hand at home, it will eliminate one more stress that my students have to deal with.
These supplies will not only help them while we are doing distance learning but also once we return to school the supplies can help them complete assignments that require them to complete at home.
