Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have twenty-two active and curious four and five-year-old students. These students are English Language Learners in a Title I school where more than ninety-five percent of students receive free or reduced-price lunch.

My Pre-K students are happy and excited to be in school.

Even though my students have challenges, I focus on each child's potential. I want to help my students develop and grow as much as possible during the time they are in my class. It is important for me to get them the resources they need to be the best learners they can be. I know that with a little support, my students will thrive.

My Project

Singing songs and playing games is a fun way to learn the names of common parts of the body. However, I want to inspire my students to learn more than just what you see on the outside. The human x-rays and the foam floor puzzle will help my students understand the human skeleton. My students will also be able to have a hands-on learning opportunity when we discuss internal organs as they use the human organ apron to discuss the location and purpose of internal organs. The learn to brush teeth and a toothbrush set is an excellent tool for my students to explore the mouth and teeth as well as learn about oral hygiene. The students will be able to use the light table as an independent center to further study the human x-rays. The light table will also be used to study other scientific concepts as we get additional materials.

My students learn best with hands-on materials!

With these materials, I hope to awaken a curiosity about the human body that could lead to careers in medicine.
