My Students

My students are sweet, smart, creative and love to have fun. They come from a variety of different backgrounds and school experiences but they all tend to love math time. Math is when it feels less academic to them and more fun, and though they tend to get loud, they’re learning so much during their play. And I enjoy finding new ways for them to learn through play, because that’s how kindergarten should be... and that’s how most students learn best!

My Project

SumBlox are a unique educational tool - they are wooden number blocks with each number corresponding to its size. These blocks will allow my students to learn through what feels like play to them and it will help them teach each other everything from number names and number to basic math operations. Who knows what they will be able to come up with, when they get their hands on these neat blocks! This educational set includes a complete set to allow multiple students to play together, plus teaching guides to help me learn how best to incorporate them into my classroom. I know they these SumBlox will become a popular and well loved, regularly used part of our room!
