The kids in my classroom are more than just students, we are family. We have a variety of different backgrounds but all have the same goal. While they have the same goal of completing 3rd grade, they all come to school needing something different. Some are coming to learn more about reading, writing, and arithmetic. Some are coming for a good meal and a place of comfort. Some are coming just to feel loved. Regardless of the why, they are all here, with me, expecting me to give them what they are needing academically, physically and emotionally. I have a classroom full of wonderful students who know how to love and who love to learn. No matter their background, or their reason for being at school, we are all there to learn something new to carry on for the rest of our lives.
My Project
I have chosen to start this project to update some of the seating in my classroom that has had the normal wear and tear of 3rd graders. I have also added a few extra items that are needed in my classroom, like art supplies and classroom rewards. Especially now, since Art has been removed from most schools, it is now up to the homeroom teacher to give students this experience, however we are unable to if we do not have the supplies needed. I appreciate all the help that I can get, as it is not easy to supply this all on my own.
