Help me give my students updated reading materials. Shakespeare can be difficult for anyone to read, and this version of the story provides a modern-day breakdown side-by-side with the original text.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
The goal of this project is to get updated materials for my students and to get physical copies of this play in their hands.
Regardless of where students come from, or where they go to school, they should have updated accessible materials.
My students are hard-working, thoughtful kids, who deserve to feel good about the materials they receive. They deserve the same access to materials as students in neighboring districts.
Romeo and Juliet is a classic Shakespearean tragedy, but trying to understand it does not have to be. This version helps students gain a deeper understanding of a play that still has an impact in our modern world.
