This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are brilliant! The students I work with are English language learners. They are literally from everywhere. Our class is the definition of diverse. These students speak multiple languages with ease but struggle a bit with the reading and writing portion. They come to school every day eager to work hard and are excited to learn.
My Project
This project is a little disjointed. The main ask is for a set of stools. We have desks with the chairs attached and they work fine for individual work. However, we often work in pairs or small groups and it requires moving a lot of furniture. If we had these light weight stools, students could share a writing space with considerably less hassle. This leads to more time learning and less time moving desks and less potential injuries.
Kindness can not be taught enough.
I want to use pom poms to teach an object lesson on spreading kindness.
