Hats Off For 1st Grade!

Help me give my students trucker hats and iron on patches to create hats that represent themselves.

My Project

I absolutely love teaching first grade. First graders are kind, curious, bright, and imaginative. Allowing them to express themselves in multiple ways is a must.

The trucker hats and iron- on patches will be one way I have my kids express themselves this school year.

It is important that each child in my classroom is represented. They can see themselves in our class through books, crafts, pictures, and lessons I teach. One new way I would like to incorporate representation this year is to have each student make a trucker hat that showcases themselves at the beginning of the year. Each student will choose a hat and a few iron-on patches to add to the hat. The patches they choose will be ones that represent them. My students will have these hats to wear throughout the school year. They can wear them for Hat Day, other school Spirit Days, or just any other day they want.
