My students are eager, energized, and full of questions. They show a passion for learning every day. They are not afraid to take risks in their learning and keep trying until they succeed. They make teaching fun, easy, and exciting!
My students are creative, kind, and thoughtful.
They are wise beyond their years. We use a variety of learning strategies including: group work, centers, manipulatives, visuals, and hands-on as much as possible. The greatest learning is being a part of it!
Because of COVID, we have missed out on a LOT of hands on fun. I would love to provide some hands on learning by hatching chickens and ducks in our classroom this year. If you choose us, you will be providing an opportunity for EVERY year. All we need are some basic supplies and we are all set to learn the life cycles of animals and how we are a part of it too!
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students have a "home for the happy hens." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! The egg incubator will be placed in the front of the classroom and used as a gathering place during Science time. The egg candler will be used by the students, so that they may create books that illustrate the life cycle of a chicken and what the chicken looks like inside the egg.
The donations to this project will help to improve my students' concept and understanding of a true life cycle.
By implementing a clear egg incubator my students will begin to see the moment a chicken is growing by the moving of the egg and the pipping of the egg. They will even be able to hear them squeak!!!! We will use these materials to aide us in the process of becoming life-long writers. As the teacher, I have done extensive research and reading on hatching in the classroom. I would truly love and appreciate your support to make this a reality. Thank you!
