The listening center will instill the love of reading and reading skills in my students. I am in need of a listening center because listening devices help children see how the words on the page can come alive in a fluid, expressive way. My students will be able to build upon their sight vocabulary, improve their listening skills and be exposed to a variety of story structures. I also have ESL learners who would benefit greatly! They will be able to learn new vocabulary and listen to good interpretive reading. Listening to audio books teaches critical listening skills, introduces new genres, and invites students to listen to books above their level.

About my class
