Help me give my students a variety of specialty hatching eggs for us to hatch chickens this lunar new year.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Trenton, New Jersey, is (and this is amazing!) a sanctuary city. Students from nations all over the world immigrate to Trenton with their families. The city, although economically poor in many areas, is rich in cultures and heritage from all corners of the world. We have a growing population of Hispanic immigrants, most speaking their native language Spanish. Many of these kids come from farming families. Our district has added a new Agricultural Science section for high school students in our curriculum. Students will learn the value of sustainable home farming in this program through the use of Project-Based learning programs that will expose them to the cost-effectiveness of sustainable and urban farming. Where my students live is a stark food desert and so the intrinsic value of learning to grow, farm, and harvest is truly immeasurable.
The gift cards that I am requesting will allow students to select specialty hatching eggs for different breeds of chickens as the first part of a PBL program to expose students to the financial incentives to farm this lunar new year.
Students in each of my blocks will witness the baby chicks they choose hatch and grow in the classroom. This experiential learning project will show how valuable chickens are. Each section will choose their own chickens using this gift card based on their breed preferences. They will grow to adulthood in an off-site chicken coop that will produce eggs that can then also be sold to show cost-benefit of raising chickens at home. They will be monitored in class from outdoor cameras.
This will be one of several PBL initiatives that allow students to learn the value of sustainable urban farming. We will utilize hydroponic gardens available in class, rainwater harvesting, and landscape design to optimize production.
More than half of students from low‑income households
