My Students

My students come from diverse backgrounds. We have all been hit hard from the recent destruction caused by Hurricane Harvey. I teach individuals whose homes were completely uninhabitable leaving them homeless. Not only are they dealing with turmoil at home, our new campus received over a foot of water and left us displaced most of the school year. Because of Harvey, our community has suffered a great loss in terms of material possessions and emotional stress, along with the lack of funds available to replace the items that are essential to the learning environment of my students. My students are resilient, hard-working and adaptable but in need of assistance to overcome our obstacles. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

My Project

With new science lab tables, my students will have the opportunity to perform science experiments such as; physics, space science, geology, and chemistry. This will enable and engage students in hands-on learning activities and develop life-long learners. Lab experiments give my students reinforcement of content and provides enrichment of science.

Since Hurricane Harvey halted our science investigations, my students have missed out on essential learning opportunities to explore science in ways they can connect with. My students deserve new equipment where they can investigate and test their science skills and nurture a love of science.
