Harvesting Sustainability! Help Us Take a Farm Field Trip

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is a public, Title l charter school located in a small, urban neighborhood in San Diego. Many of our students come from diverse backgrounds and include a high population of students from military families. Our school is a place where children are empowered to become the best learners they can be, with teachers and staff who make them feel safe, comfortable, and welcome each and every day.
Our school's goal is to develop civic-minded leaders, accomplished writers, and resilient life-long learners.
Our second-grade students are curious, inquisitive, and have a thirst for knowledge that will continue to grow with your help and contributions!
My Project
The field trip to Wild Willow Farm will be a wonderful experience for our students to learn about sustainable farming and get a better understanding of where their food comes from. It is a hands-on experience where students tour the farm fields, learn about composting, and also get to try different foods grown on the farm.
A Wild Willow Farm field trip will really bring our science curriculum to life and gives real-world examples of how our students can make a difference.
Last year, our previous second-grade class got to visit Wild Willow Farm and it was one of the best learning experiences the students had all year. We would love for our new crop (pun intended) of second graders to have the same experience.
