My Project

Young artists need good supplies to create their best work. The art room needs new paintbrushes to replace the worn out old mismatched brushes we are currently using. The brushes are literally falling apart. Our water washing buckets are cracking a breaking. New brushes and water buckets will help more than anything! As an artist myself, I know that the key to successful watercolor painting is using good paper! Trying to paint on the heavy drawing paper the district provides causes holes in the paintings, and crinkled and warped finished pieces as they dry.

Classroom organization can make or break any classroom, but is especially critical in an art room where the classes rotate through on a tight and fast schedule.

Carpet numbers will speed up transitions and erase some of the drama that can happen as students fight for places or squish each other by failing to leave enough room. A stop light sign to help students know when it is ok to talk, when they should whisper, and when they should be silent will reinforce critical classroom behaviors and increase student success. Storage bins for scrapbook papers used in collage projects will help students quickly find the colors they are looking for. Currently, the papers are all floating in a box, forcing students to dig through the pile to find what they need.
