This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 4th-grade students reside in Los Angeles. They are extremely caring and take action in an effort to create a positive impact inside and outside of the school community

My students value the importance of multiple perspectives as well as the need to be critical and well-informed about present-day realities.

They are risk takers and vibrant inquirers who enjoy learning new information and posing questions.

My students are English language learners and participate in the school's Spanish bilingual maintenance program. My school serves students from working-class families.

My goal is to provide my students with the best resources and education to foster life-long learning. I truly appreciate your consideration in supporting my class.

My Project

My students have unanimously decided to read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. At this moment, we need individual copies of the book so students can analyze the text as a whole class, individually, and in small groups.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone allows for students to further fall in love with reading.

My students will participate in a novel study. Students will further analyze the literary elements of the Harry Potter text inside and outside of small book clubs. All donations to this project will foster student enthusiasm towards reading, provide access to the text itself, as well as increase their reading comprehension skills and analysis.
