Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach at a high poverty school where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
My students are thoughtful and enthusiastic learners.
They come to class each day eager to see their school family and tackle academic challenges. I am constantly amazed by their ingenuity and desire to be better than they were yesterday.
In my classroom, we focus on becoming learners, not just learning material. Hopefully, the skills they acquire are ones that will benefit them throughout their academic journey.
My Project
With six copies of the first two Harry Potter books, I hope to take my students on an academic adventure.
Through structured questions and activities, my students will enhance their social skills with collaborative conversations and foster a love of reading that will follow them after they leave my classroom.
Students will meet and discuss each chapter. They will work individually, with a partner, and in small groups. This will enhance their stamina, vocabulary, and critical thinking skills. The binders will help them to keep their work organized and all in one, safe place. These supplies will help introduce my students to a magical world.
