My Students

My students are hard-working students who love to make music. We are an IB school in the inner-city. The majority of our students get free or reduced-price lunch.

Our students deserve to have the technology needed to be musicians in this century.

I want our music students to be able to evaluate their performance and continue to strive for excellence in performance.

All of our music students are eager to learn and develop their skill. This tool will help them achieve this goal. My musicians are always excited in band-some say music is their life. This is a classroom where students learn the skills necessary to express themselves! Our students deserve to have all the resources that other music programs have.

My Project

The Harmony Director is a teaching keyboard that provides the tools necessary to help today's students in music succeed. This tool has been used in Japan for years and it is just now being brought into the school systems in the United States.

The keyboard will give our students the tools necessary to understand harmony, rhythm and timing to the students in lessons and to the ensembles of our school.

The Harmony Director allows me to teach intonation within chords. The keyboard features with tone include ways for our students to learn how to tune, harmonize, analyze all to increase musicianship skills

With the harmony director keyboard the students will gain a deeper understanding of pitch, harmony and rhythm.
