This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love to learn and are curious about the world around them. They work hard and deserve to be rewarded! In our class, students get rewarded for showing effort, completing homework, being responsibility, and/or making the right choices.

Our Magic Store inventory needs replenishment!

With our class store, students learn about saving, budgeting, converting coins, and counting! They love to buy items and appreciate the items more because they earned them! In the past, students have also saved to buy gifts for their siblings and friends - so sweet! Also, they've calculated how much more they would need to earn something. The better the prizes, the more my students are incentivized.

The Dr. Seuss pens, notebooks, stencils, and doodle pads would be great items for classroom use! The animal plushies, toy cars, balls and Play-Doh are always fun options too. All of these can be easily stored and then carted out every Friday for store time. Since money and its concepts are officially introduced in my math curriculum, this is the best time to expose students to the ideas of money and how to improve their overall financial literacy.
