My Students
My students are a group of energetic first graders who come to school each day eager to learn. They attend a high poverty, Title I school in rural Georgia and over 85% of my children live in poverty.
Regardless of our socioeconomic status, these students are young, ambitious, and smart.
Despite their hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn as much as they can so they can be successful. I teach an amazing group of first graders who come to school each day with smiles on their faces.
My Project
This project will help me provide healthy snacks for my students. Every day between breakfast and our late lunch we have a time where students can have a snack; however, many of our students come from limited-income households who cannot provide snacks. Health and wellness is so important and these snacks (fruit snacks, pretzels, popcorn, chips, and cookies) will give my students the energy they need throughout the school day.
In this project, I am requesting several items to help make our classroom cleaner, healthier and safer.
The Clorox wipes will be used each day to clean our tables and get rid of the germs. The wipes will help keep the room clean and the children healthy. The broom will enable us to sweep each day and keep our rugs and floor clean.
It would make a remarkable difference in our school and classroom to know that students have been given their best opportunity to learn in a clean room and have healthy snacks along the way. Healthy classroom equals healthy students!
