My Students

My students are an amazing group of diverse learners in Maine. We have students from all economic circumstances, many of whom are English Language Learners. We are in an urban environment located on the coast of Maine.

Students at our school need rich learning opportunities, facilitated by knowing teachers.

Due to the various backgrounds of our student body, we are in need of materials and tools to narrow the experiential gap of our students, especially those tools which strengthen language development. Our school is an important part of our local community and strengthening our community connection is a priority.

My Project

This is project supports the Reiche Birthday Book Cart that is currently in our second school year. This is a project where every child in the school can come down to my classroom on their birthday to pick a book of their choice for their birthday.

All students should be celebrated with a book on their birthday.

I have included a mixture of classics like Dr Seuss, Informational books from National Geographic and other great Fiction adventures, like the adventures of Mercy Watson, which is always a hit! Thank you so much for considering this project as we continue to celebrate all students on their special day.
