Help me give my students cereal bars, granola bars, fruit snacks, tissues, candy, coffee filters, lavender oil, sanitizing wipes, and storage containers, to get us off to a happy and healthy new school year!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are a Title I school that offers free breakfast and lunch to all children. Our second-grade scholars live in a high poverty neighborhood. Our community is located in an inner-city area. About 85% of our students identify as African American, 5% Latino, 2% White, 1% Asian, and 9% multi-racial.
Labels and test scores do an injustice to our scholars and teachers.
My scholars and I refuse to accept failure. If you could see our children, you would understand that they are full of potential and that they are future leaders and innovators. Our students are perseverant, motivated, enthusiastic, and driven to succeed. We will bridge the poverty gap, and they will achieve!
My Project
It is the start to a new and exciting school year for our fabulous second grade scholars!
We need snacks and supplies to ensure that these young children are both happy and healthy!
We can do this by providing them a healthy snack when needed to satisfy hunger pains. Snacks such as cereal bars, granola bars, fruit snacks, crackers, and pretzels will help our students focus on learning and not grumbling tummies.
The storage containers will help to protect the snacks keeping them both safe and fresh. The Clorox wipes, tissues, and hand sanitizer will help to control the spread of viruses thereby improving attendance and academic achievement. The coffee filters are for individual servings of snacks and the lavender will be used with our diffuser to create a relaxing environment.
Help us to get off to a happy and healthy start to second grade!
