Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

These notebooks will help my students with the digestion and contextual understanding of academic material. It has been studied that students who hand-write their notes have an increased chance at understanding the material that is in front of them. Handwriting is also another mode of media in the classroom that will assist in the differentiation strategies used for multiple layers of learning.

Since the world went virtual, my students have become entirely attached to the idea that internet-based and technological learning is the ONLY pathway to success.

I aim to teach my students that other forms of academic understanding exist and can be useful in the path to their educational success. The notebooks will also allow room for enriching student feedback since I can leave messages about the accuracy and next steps in their notes books, attach their quizzes to the pages for reference, and give them a tool that they will hold onto for their future endeavors.
