My Project

The young learners in Mrs. Ichord's class come with a great variety of strengths and needs. They are not one-size-fits-all learners, and they shouldn't have a one-size-fits-all approach to learning.

Providing a variety of materials ensures equity in education.

A child who understands more by doing shouldn't be made to feel that she is less because the traditional methods of paper-pencil tasks frustrate her. A child who needs to calm his body in order to focus his mind should have that support. Anyone who supports that supports the future.

I plan to use these materials to provide hands-on activities for my students. More importantly, these activities will be individualized to promote more independence in learning for my students. In the world of resource education, especially in the primary grades, that means so much!
