Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students are visual and hands-on learners. I plan to spend part of my summer in preparation for the upcoming school year by assembling and preparing more hands-on learning opertunities for all of my students for years to come.

Task Boxes are an effective way to bring learning to life.

Once the hard work of printing on Card Stock, Cutting, Laminating, and Assembling each box the students will have them to learn with for years to come. The Science of Reading is hitting this classroom hard with the amazing professional developments I have participated in. Through this training I was better able to identify my weaknesses as a Special Education teacher and am better able to support the students with a more precise way of educating them Phonemic awareness is key for building a solid foundation of reading, having magnet letters and tools to help build that foundation is key to having long term success.
