Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our elementary school is hosting a schoolwide STEM PBIS event designed to celebrate positive behavior while engaging students in hands-on learning. This project will provide simple but powerful materials—aluminum foil and lima beans—that allow every student to participate in interactive STEM challenges and experiments.

Through this event, students will explore problem-solving, teamwork, and creativity while reinforcing our school’s PBIS expectations in a fun and meaningful way.

Our students are energetic, curious elementary learners who thrive when learning is active and collaborative. This event will include students from all grade levels, allowing the entire school community to learn and celebrate together.

Our students will work together to create a aluminum foil boat. Each pair of students will create a boat and then compete with other student to see which boat holds the most Lima Beans!

Many of our students benefit from structured opportunities to practice cooperation, perseverance, and respectful behavior, and PBIS events like this help reinforce those skills in a positive, engaging environment.

This project will impact our entire elementary school by turning positive behavior into a celebration of learning. Students will leave the event feeling proud of their choices, excited about STEM, and connected to their school community.
