My students are kindergarteners that are all learning at different paces. Some are learning to read and write while others are learning how to interact appropriately with those around them. The thing I love most about them is that they are all unique. Their experiences are not the same so they all have a different perspective on what we are doing. They are so very different but that is what makes each one of them special. They truly are the voice in the classroom and their interests guide my teaching each day.
My Project
These new math counters will help bring math to life for my busy hands-on learners. I am a first-year teacher and many of my supplies are old, outdated, or missing essential pieces. The students need the touch and feel of real materials and right now I can't always give them that experience because of the shortage of materials. My students are noticeably more engaged when they are able to actively take part in the movement of materials.
I have noticed many of my students having interests in how things work or why things work the way they do.
Students are curious in kindergarten and I want to foster that curiosity through their play and exploration. Using various STEAM materials and building manipulatives is one way to do that. Different students thrive in different situations and I want to give my students the chance to thrive in a way they may not have been able to before.
The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional hands-on opportunities to make their learning more meaningful.
Thank you for your support in helping these kindergarteners enjoy exploration and learning!
