My Students

Fourth grade is such an exciting time! Students are learning to be more independent and think more deeply. Although it has been a rough couple of years with switching back and forth between remote and in-person learning, my students are learning to be resilient, and they seem to have a greater appreciation for learning. They love exploring the world around them through science. We investigate natural phenomena they might see every day and have great class discussions. They are extremely motivated to share their thinking. It is amazing to watch them tackle each task and blossom throughout the year. I love being a part of their journey!

These fourth graders have a big future ahead, and I'm striving to prepare them to succeed.

My Project

These products will help my students master many language skills they will need to be successful this year and in the years to come. I am seeking to incorporate a more engaging reading resources for both fiction and non-fiction texts.

Understanding non-fiction texts is a big part of our fourth-grade curriculum, and it's a challenging skill for students to master.

It takes lots of practice! These students need high-interest resources and stories to keep them engaged as they are becoming better readers. The StoryWorks and Time for Kids magazines can help them achieve that. They are both student-friendly and apply to the real, current world around us.

When our class studies fossils and circuits, it is so much more powerful for them to have access to hands-on supplies rather than simply looking at pictures and videos. However, these items can be very expensive for a whole class set. I'm hoping to supply my students with the opportunity to see science right before their eyes.
