My Students

My students this year struggle a lot to learn how to read due to Covid and all it's crazyness, but never give up and always give their best in class. Since we have been focussing a lot on literacy the first half of the school year, my plan is to reward them with some amazing hands-on science projects, like growing their own plants, caring for a classroom aquarium and so much more. Since we are an immersive school, they learn German through science and math in my classroom, which makes it vital that I use as much real material as possible and give them hands-on projects to spark their interest in the topics and the language.

My students this year are amazing!

They are incredibly resilient and try their hardest to make up for everything they lost in the last two years of learning due to Covid.

My Project

With these materials, my students will be able to experience science and math through hands-on materials and live projects. My students love science and I am sure the aquaponik garden and fish tank will spark their interest in plant- and animal life-cycles. All of the material will help my students understand scientific concepts and math and help them learn about lifecycles, habitats, magnets, multiplication, geometric shapes and so much more.

This year, my students struggle a lot in school, not only in their learning, but also emotionally.

Providing them with projects that are interesting, engaging and hands-on will make coming to school and getting through this challenging phase more easy. Especially caring for their own plants and animals will help these students push through and face their challenges.
