Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is closed to the public for the remainder of the school year. This has been an absolutely incredible group of 3rd graders that were so eager to learn. So many bonds were formed with me and their peers. We were like a family and through that the students were excelling. Now, students are at home doing packets of work assigned by our county. The packets have excellent review material, but it would be great to send them some fun, hands-on science experiments that they can do with their families.

My Project

Each student will be mailed a science kit to their homes where they are staying safe with their families. Each of these kits contains 50 science projects and almost every item they need to complete the projects. Many of my students have siblings, so the entire family can spend some fun, educational time together. This project would really help my students feel loved, because they are so loved! It will also continue their education during this stressful time. As an adult, we have a little bit of control, but the students have very little. This will make this time much more memorable in a positive way. Any help would be appreciated!
