Developmental second grade is such an exciting group of mixed interests, abilities, and goals. Students are learning to read, manipulate numbers and master hand coordination. Our group loves to play outside, learn new games, and boogie to a sweet tune.

In this class, we build a community around what we have in common and our shared experiences.
We are part of a larger school that celebrates inclusion. The work we do in this classroom is building relationships, staying with the group, following directions, and accessing general education content in different ways. We celebrate little wins together each day.
My Project
This project is designed to bring hands on materials and manipulatives into the classroom. These manipulatives will be used by students in my class and pod as they learn and explore science and math. Hands on manipulatives reach tactile learners, enhance visual and auditor learners and bring the real life experience of the math and science into perspective for the young age group. Studies have shown that the more hands on practice students have for math and science the more they retain and the better they learn as they grow.
