This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a speech-language pathologist in a low-income school district. Many of my students do not have access to learning materials outside of the classroom. Especially now with a pandemic and distance learning, having hands-on materials for families is important. I want to provide my students with the best and most creative learning opportunities possible.

I work primarily with preschoolers.

Receiving services with me may be their first exposure to literacy. I love seeing how excited they get when we use play dough, or make a craft.

My Project

While education is struggling to get items in the hands of their students, you can help! Distance learning shouldn't mean students don't have access to construction paper, glue sticks, crayons, and other fun materials that they would use in person.

I hope to provide my students packages with these items they can use at home to help their learning grow.

Distance learning is a challenge that educators, students, and families will overcome.

I hope to use the document camera to help my students get a clearer picture of tangible items that I use during our live online instruction time. Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards would help me purchase more engaging online activities to share with the students and families.
