Hands-On Materials for Home

Help me give my students hands-on materials such as playing cards, math cubes, and motivational bookmarks to practice math, reading, and spelling during remote learning.

My Students

We are a Title I school located in an urban neighborhood. My students and their families come to our small elementary school from all over the globe. Our school is also a community gathering place used for events such as potlucks, community meetings, recreation, and other social events.

I teach 40 curious and energetic second-grade students!

In fact, more than half of my students speak two or more languages! My students' love for learning is contagious. We truly are a community of diverse learners.

My Project

My students are currently using virtual manipulatives for math. This is challenging for many students because they need to flip between assignments and virtual math manipulative apps. In the classroom, students had access to a variety of tools to help them solve math problems.

I would like to give my students real math manipulatives that they can hold in their hands and move around.

These manipulatives can be used to help students with addition, subtraction, and even multiplication. They can also be used for a variety of math games that students can play with their entire families.
