Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from diverse backgrounds. Many are students with interrupted formal education. They tackle everyday adversity and obstacles with a positive attitude. As young adolescents, living through a pandemic, learning a new culture, they face a lot of emotions and challenges. They walk into class every day ready to learn, support those around them.

Their cultural diversity fuels the learning within the classroom.

These students enjoy learning to different modalities. They are open minded and creative, willing and ready to learn new skills, and about the world around them.

My Project

I want to bring more materials into my classroom that will help the tactile and visual learners engage with the lessons more. All of the students have diverse learning needs. Many of the students have an interrupted former education, some are still learning foundational math, and literacy skills.

All of my students are English learners, therefore the learning blocks will help them improve their spelling and pronunciation in English.

These materials will allow for work that is on paper, to be turned into a 3D hands-on learning experience, whether it is learning multiplication, or learning English.
